Service Monday at Cafe 180

March 4, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Each Monday from 11am-1pm A Stronger Cord volunteers gather for lunch and fellowship with others at Englewood’s Cafe 180. This is a wonderful spot on S. Broadway and Floyd that offers a meal to anyone, even if you can’t pay. This from Cafe 180 founder Catherine Clements:

“We love food. We love our neighbors. And we’ve all relied on the kindness of others at certain times in our lives. We started CAFE 180 to share our love of food with everyone. For those who have enough, it’s a chance to eat well and do well. For those who are struggling, it’s a chance to eat well in a dignified manner. We’re not about handouts. We’re about giving people a hand up…

Our mission is to reduce hunger in the community by providing meals to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. At the cornerstone of all we do, is an idea we call “DIGNIFICATION”®. Not only do we serve up delicious food, we serve up respect, dignity and self sufficiency. Our goal is for everyone to leave nourished.”

Cafe 180 and A Stronger Cord are partners in Englewood’s “Change The Trend”.

This consortium of city, faith-based, non profit, business and community groups are uniting to lessen the impact of homelessness on Englewood’s residents, families and neighborhoods. Building relationships with those experiencing homelessness encourages them to take advantage of CTT’s “Resource Navigation Program.”

Join us for great food, fellowship and offering hope to those experiencing homelessness!
